Maybe because we stayed in paradise while in Nice, or for some other mystery, but the heavens have opened up on us these last two days. Today was rain from the word go, and lasted all through the day. Today was our "easy" day with only 99k of riding and on the lesser side of 4k in climbing. And, of course we finished in a town called Die (pronounced Dee, but still!).
Fortunately, it wasn't too cold despite the rain, and we enjoyed the scenery in a different way. The climbs were nice and steady, and the descents would be worth the trip but for the wet, slick roads.
But, we must have atoned as the sun is out, it is summery hot, and the rest of the week promises the same all the way to Geneva. We even got in early enough for a little stroll around the town.
Only a few photos today, since no one felt like stopping in this weather despite the beauty along the way. Most of are Die.
Love to all at home.

Every one of these pictures could be a postcard...the street views, the mountains and of course, the food...all beautiful. Looks like Becky and Gunther had some time for a stroll! Sorry you had rain, but glad that the rest of the week is going to be clear. Watch out for cars and giant mountain climbs!
ReplyDeleteMore great picture postcard pics! Kudos to you Mr. Peter! I just love that you take the time to capture these priceless images and post them here for us to experience them vicariously! Sorry you had more inclement weather but glad it is going to clear up the remainder of the week. Nice to see B and Gunther smile as well! Safe travels my friend....
