On the plus side, I picked up a rental bike. On the minus side, the lock on Mark's bike was cut and the bike stolen. Not the standard trip by any means, but it will all work out.
First a little stop in a village around Annecy for a coffee and bike rental. Picture perfect of course.
And here is the replacement! I've never ridden a road bike with disc brakes, but now is the time! The paint scheme will make me super fast.
Did I mention the Lake is beautiful?
(My swimming hole after the ride. Nice.)
And on to dinner at the hotel's terrace overlooking the Lake. Never mind the pastis in the photo, or the wine in the next - both delicious.
And, dessert as the sun sets. Tomorrow is a proper ride, many miles and many climbs. Good night to all at home.

So sad about Gunther’s bike :-( but hopefully your replacement bikes will work well! We need more pics with you in them-selfie time!😜😘
ReplyDeleteThe circumstances may not be the best to start out but it seems that you are both making the best of the situation. The photoblog is another great one. May the wind be at your backs as you forge ahead! And pretty funky looking bike replacement! Like Annie said, more pics of you, B and Gunther please!
ReplyDeleteAm thinking of all of you this morning! Becky said the ride today will be hard/fun and I’m hoping more fun than hard! Annecy once again is so gorgeous. Your bike looks awesome. Be careful! I’ll look forward to hearing how Gunther does on his replacement bike! Glad you both have wheels and are making the best of some unexpected happenings! Waiting for more news and selfie pics! Thanks again for taking the time to post!!
